Responsibilities The Habilitation Counselor performs the important role of helping individuals maximize their independence and reach their human potential. Key duties include: Actively participating in the development and implementation of individualized goal/treatment plans. Completing progress assessments designed to track improvements and identify additional areas of need, leading to a higher quality of life. Attending clinical meetings and reporting behavior data for the designated program. Conferring with individuals to discuss their options and goals, and developing their supports. Facilitating and participating in monthly communication with families/guardians to discuss individuals and complete required documentation. Supervising and/or assisting individuals in the implementation of program plans, providing for their health and physical needs, and ensuring a safe environment. Performing additional skills as required for site‑specific roles (day habilitation, medical support, program activity, or overnight support). Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a related field (required). Experience: Preferred prior experience working with individuals with psychological, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, complex PTSD, co‑occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Communication & Computer Skills: Proficient communication skills; Proficient with Outlook, SharePoint, EHR, Microsoft Office. License: Valid driver’s license must be maintained. Physical Requirements: Ability to administer CPR, first aid, and trained physical interventions; create and maintain a therapeutic milieu; regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing/pulling (½–¾ of workday); may require lifting up to 50 lbs (¼–½ of workday); repetitive wrist/hand movements (¾–4/4 of workday); adequate hearing and vision; can work inside and outside under varying conditions; drives Devereux vehicle or van; free from drug or substance abuse. Salary (commensurate with education and experience) With BA/BS – $21.00 – $22.47 per hour. With MA/MS or higher – $22.00 – $23.54 per hour.
