Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect
Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect to design, implement, and support enterprise and industrial network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network architecture, security, routing, switching, wireless technologies, and cloud networking within enterprise and manufacturing environments.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of IT experience with 7+ years in Network Engineering
- Strong expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, HPE, and enterprise networking technologies
- Deep knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS
- Experience with network security, SASE, NAC, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Strong network architecture, performance tuning, and infrastructure design skills
- Experience leading enterprise network projects and managing technology vendors
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP preferred
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable enterprise network infrastructure
- Lead network architecture and modernization initiatives
- Manage firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and security solutions
- Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues
- Support cloud and on-premise network environments
- Develop network security standards, documentation, and technology roadmaps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
- Provide support for multiple sites and participate in on-call rotations as needed
Preferred:
- Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, and macOS
- Data center/server room infrastructure experience
- SOX compliance and audit support experience
- Manufacturing, lab, or industrial network environment experience
