Inside Sales Representative - Discrete

Core Responsibilities Work to meet all established Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) Meet sales and gross profit percentage targets for assigned books of business Follow company guidelines to establish selling prices and profit margins Actively research profitability concerns Meet objectives related to customer acquisition and activation Always represent the company professionally and courteously Moderate/Expert technical understanding of fasteners & industrial hardware required Work to ensure customer retention through seamless customer support, proactive communication, and order fulfillment troubleshooting Serve as an escalation point for non‑routine customer solutions and support; provide support to the Business Unit Manager in escalated matters Work to improve customer experience and provide solutions for one‑time buys, and drive efficiency to improve service & profitability Provide support and mentorship to other members of the discrete/unplanned Inside Sales team, including providing training opportunities Data entry, quote support, record management, research activities, logistics (communication with warehouse), shipment scheduling, etc. via defined processes Effective management of all customers’ master data (e.g., shipping conditions, blanket order requirements, customer contact information, CRM data, prior‑day invoicing, order entry) Proactively drive account management while executing tasks to support the sales process and move opportunities forward Collaborate professionally with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues Manage customer portals for demand, quote requests, and corrective actions Maintain and build customer relationships to become trusted consultative advisors Demonstrate excellent judgement and decision‑making skills Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem solving in many diverse situations Proactively contact customers to assist with upcoming requirements Be able to learn with Wurth training to read and decipher customer prints and drawings Provide leadership for recommending and identifying internal process improvements Respond timely to requests via all modes of communication (e.g., phone, fax, email or chat) Perform other duties, as assigned Qualifications, Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s Degree Preferred; High school diploma/GED Minimum 3–5 years’ customer service/inside sales or related experience required Intermediate to Advanced experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint Advanced Excel skills SAP & P21 skills/experience are advantageous Must be able to read, analyze and understand customer purchase orders, drawings and vendor‑supplied reference material Experience in sourcing and procuring industrial hardware Intermediate technical understanding of fasteners & industrial hardware required Ability to analyze data to make decisions and impact on the customer Upsell products and services Ability to supply customers with professional written, computer‑generated or verbal quotations and recommendations Must be able to verbalize thoughts and information via phone and in person clearly and concisely Excellent judgement and decision‑making skills Ability to establish credibility, respect and trust from internal colleagues and external customers Ability to keep employees motivated, create a team environment and resolve conflict Must occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 lbs Benefits Maternity/Paternal leave after 1 year of service Tuition Reimbursement eligible after 1 year of service Health benefits and programs – medical, vision, dental, life insurance and more 401(k), Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability Paid Time Off, accrued per pay period, additional day earned per year of service 10 paid holidays EEOC STATEMENT: The Wurth Industry North America group of companies are Equal Opportunity Employers and do not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s sex, age, race, color, creed, national origin, alienage, religion, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation or affectional preference, genetic trait or predisposition, carrier status, citizenship, veteran or military status, and other personal characteristics protected by law.
