Associate Attorney

Experienced Attorneys WantedA growing law firm is seeking experienced attorneys to join its Binghamton, NY office. Candidates with at least three years of relevant legal experience are preferred, although attorneys with other levels of experience will also be considered.Candidates with a general practice background or experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:Business and corporate lawReal estateTrusts and estatesLitigationLabor and employment lawResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will vary by practice area and may include:Advising and representing clients on a broad range of legal matters.Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, pleadings, transactional and closing documents, estate-planning documents, and other legal instruments.Conducting legal research and preparing clear, practical written analyses.Communicating regularly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, government agencies, and other parties.Managing matters and deadlines with appropriate attorney and staff support.Collaborating with attorneys and professionals across offices and practice groups.Traveling to branch offices, courts, client locations, or other sites as business needs require.QualificationsSuccessful candidates should possess:Admission to practice law in New York State, or eligibility for admission on motion with the ability to obtain admission promptly.At least three years of relevant legal experience preferred; other experience levels may be considered.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and problem-solving abilities.Sound professional judgment and careful attention to detail.Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain organized.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.Strong client-service and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard legal and business technology.The OpportunityThis position provides substantial client contact and the opportunity to assume meaningful responsibility for legal matters. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience while working in a collaborative, sophisticated, and team-oriented environment.The anticipated base salary range is $90,000 to $130,000 annually. Compensation will depend on relevant experience, qualifications, practice-area needs, and other bona fide factors.
