Description: This is an Emergency Department position. The facility operates as a Level IV Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center. The patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics with various types of illnesses, and the majority of patients are adults. Patient ratios are approximately 1:5, occasionally up to 6, based on acuity. Support in the unit includes a CNA with a ratio of 1:12. There is no titled Charge RN in the Emergency Department. ED RNs will perform phlebotomy at the bedside. Resource Nurse and Lead RN functions serve as resources on the unit. Respiratory Therapy is in-house 24/7, as well as a Clientist. Telemetry monitoring is conducted at the bedside and nursing station without a dedicated tech. The charting system used is Epic, alongside GE monitors, Alaris, and Pyxis. Floating to other units is not required. There is a weekend rotation, occurring every other weekend. Time off can typically be approved for up to 7 days, contingent on department staffing needs. There is no call requirement. Holiday expectations vary based on the needs of the unit. Scrub color is unrestricted.
