Processing Lead

Job Title
Oversee operation of Tobacco processing equipment, supervision and training of hourly staff in various departments within our unionized leaf processing facility.
Responsibilities
Job Content and Duties:
- Operation of processing equipment in assigned department.
- Train and supervise hourly and seasonal employees in proper work procedures, and document training performed
- Maintain accurate payroll and attendance records on hourly and seasonal employees, and submit weekly report of hours worked by all direct reports to Payroll to meet specified deadlines
- Ensure compliance with all plant rules and regulations, including safety and current bargaining union agreement.
- Conduct preliminary counseling with hourly and seasonal employees and disciplinary action when necessary, following discussion with Supervisor; document and communicate action taken to the Supervisor and to the Plant Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum High School diploma, with some college or technical school preferred.
- 2-3 years experience in production/manufacturing industry
- 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule, to include overtime and weekends as necessary
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) desired
