Position Overview

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Buyer / Planner with a strong background in electronics manufacturing for a company located in Lawrenceville, GA.

This position is responsible for purchasing electronic components, managing inventory, coordinating supplier relationships, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), material requirements planning, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase electronic components, raw materials, and supplies required for manufacturing operations.

• Manage purchasing and material planning for PCB and PCBA production.

• Review production schedules, forecasts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine material requirements.

• Create, issue, and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.

• Source electronic components, including semiconductors, connectors, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic parts.

• Work closely with suppliers and distributors to monitor pricing, availability, lead times, and potential shortages.

• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and production planning.

• Monitor inventory levels and identify potential material shortages that could impact production.

• Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and warehouse teams.

• Identify alternative components and suppliers when materials become unavailable, coordinating approvals with engineering.

• Manage supplier relationships and resolve delivery, quality, and pricing concerns.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory data, and supplier information.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improvements to purchasing processes.

• Support production deadlines and customer delivery requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Previous purchasing or material planning experience in electronics manufacturing is required.

• Experience sourcing and purchasing electronic components.

• Knowledge of PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes and electronic Bills of Materials.

• Experience using ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management.

• Understanding of electronic component lead times, shortages, and supply chain challenges.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Buyer, Planner, or Material Planner in electronics manufacturing.

• Experience working in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.

• Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production processes.

• Experience sourcing components through authorized electronic distributors.

• Knowledge of component lifecycle management, obsolescence, and end-of-life (EOL) materials.

• Experience with inventory optimization, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction initiatives.

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

The ideal candidate can effectively manage electronic component purchasing, anticipate material shortages, communicate with suppliers, and ensure production teams have the materials needed to meet customer deadlines.

Electronics manufacturing experience is required. Candidates with only general purchasing or warehouse experience may not meet the qualifications for this position.
