Enrollment Counselor, Admissions & Recruitment

Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Enrollment Pathway Counselor will assist degree and non-degree seeking students with applying to college, course registration, financial planning and transfer counseling. The Counselor will also and participate in enrollment communication campaigns. This is a hybrid position that requires in person and remote work.

Responsibilities:

• Assists new degree and non-degree seeking students with all aspects of enrolling at the College. Assist prospective students with navigating the College application, review admissions requirements, process course waivers, and help students with course registration.
• Advises students on the financial aid and planning process and offer financial planning workshops.
• Provides transfer information to students on transferability of courses, articulation and dual admission agreements.
• Advises students on academic policies and procedures and refer them to appropriate College support resources.
• Assists with enrollment outreach calls to prospective, new, and continuing students.
• Monitors the Admissions email and makes appropriate referrals to academic and enrollment support departments; monitor admissions virtual chat and respond to inquiries related to applying and enrolling at the College.
• Use appropriate software, student information and communication relationship management systems to support student enrollment.
• Participates in required and optional professional development in the form of college wide, division and department meetings and trainings.
• Participates in evening and weekend enrollment events.
• Performs other enrollment related administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or a closely related field; with two (2) years of experience and/or training involving academic and/or transfer advising, student recruitment/retention, student services, counseling, or comparable experience in an institute of higher education or client-based community organization; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Demonstrate and possess a strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of people and groups.
• Knowledge of student development concepts, principles, and practices in coaching strategies.
• Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in student information systems and technology as well as MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work Saturdays during peak registration periods (August, September, and January).
• Experience using student information systems (SIS) such as Colleague or other student management software.
• Bilingual: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese or other language.
• Experience working in a community college.

Additional Information:

Salary: $58,979 - $63,544 (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate with Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.)

Grade: 3 Unit Professional. Full State Benefited position.
