Empower young learners and make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse learning needs in a contract assignment as a Special Education Teacher. This opportunity, based near Elgin, SC, seeks a compassionate, skilled educator dedicated to fostering an inclusive classroom environment and collaborating closely with fellow staff and families.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; relevant certification/licensure as required
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 setting
- Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress tracking
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborative approach to supporting student achievement and professional growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs
- Assess student progress and provide both direct instruction and consultative support to classroom teachers
- Maintain accurate records, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation, independence, and academic growth
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about student progress and strategies for continued success
- Collaborate with related service providers and school staff to implement accommodations and modifications
