As a Registered Dietitian, you will play an important role in helping residents maintain strength, health, dignity, and quality of life through thoughtful nutrition care and clinical collaboration. What You'll Do As a Registered Dietitian , you will assess residents' nutritional needs and provide the documentation, education, and care planning support needed to meet state, federal, and Hillcrest standards. You will:
- Assess residents and develop individualized nutrition plans of care.
- Ensure residents' nutritional needs are met in alignment with care goals, physician orders, and regulatory requirements.
- Review labs, MAR/TAR, weights, diet orders, and clinical changes to identify needed interventions.
- Monitor and help prevent significant weight loss.
- Complete required clinical documentation accurately and timely.
- Complete Section K of the MDS and stay current with clinical documentation needs.
- Attend NAR meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and team members as needed.
- Develop and support nutritional in-services to help ensure appropriate dietary information is understood and followed.
- Calculate, order, and monitor tube feeding needs.
- Monitor residents who require assisted dining support.
- Partner with Culinary Services leadership on menu recommendations and resident nutrition needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing, post-acute, and long-term care settings.
- Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, team members, and leadership.
- At least two years of experience as a clinical dietitian in long-term care, post-acute care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of nutrition assessments, care planning, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of MDS documentation, Section K, weight monitoring, and nutrition-related interventions.
- Experience with tube feeding calculations, monitoring, and follow-through.
- Ability to partner effectively with culinary, nursing, clinical, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, team members, and leadership.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or stressful situations.
- Comfort using technology and clinical resources efficiently and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field required.
- Active Registered Dietitian license in the state of Nebraska required.
- Previous long-term care, post-acute care, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, and movement as needed.
- Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful situations.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to utilize technology and clinical resources efficiently and effectively.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Other duties as assigned.
