Mid-Senior Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer Job Summary: KBR’s National Security Solutions team delivers high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This role focuses on developing government reference and portfolio‐level architectures aligned with the United States Space Force (USSF) force design. The engineer will work with Space Systems Command (SSC) personnel to apply critical thinking toward solutions for current threat environments for National Security Space (NSS) customers. An active TS/SCI clearance is required, and the candidate must also be clearable to SAP. Key Responsibilities Conduct and develop products in Working Groups that address the design, development, production, and integration of Space Control systems. Build an understanding of the adversarial threat‑based kill chains facing U.S. space assets. Facilitate, develop, and present resolution of issues related to system‑of‑systems integration. Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements for Space Control programs. Perform cross‑mission area architecture development through the identification of potential synergies and efficiencies across multiple mission areas based on existing roadmaps and SSC Program Directorate‑developed architectures. Evaluate and characterize the known trade space and ensure requirements mapping of newly developed enterprise‑level cross‑mission area architectures. Develop candidate architectures that resolve common functions into common/enterprise solutions to reduce the cost associated with acquiring and maintaining multiple systems to achieve the same function. Collect, analyze, and report on data collected during system‑of‑systems integration events. Develop MBSE models at all levels using Cameo and/or Sparx. Required Qualifications An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position. 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace. 5‑10 years of applied experience using Model‑based System Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SPARX or CAMEO. BS in engineering, computer science or equivalent experience. Independent problem solving with a variety of mission architecture systems engineering abilities, including knowledge and experience in requirements development and analysis. Ability to work effectively with customers and program stakeholders and have robust written and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering. Experience with classified programs. Mission engineering experience is a plus. Experience in space system design, development, production and acquisition. Experience with technical mentorship. Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Level 1 and 2. Work Environment Location: On‑site at the Aerospace Complex. Travel Requirements: Minimal 0‑20%. Working Hours: Standard. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 hours per week. Basic Compensation $125,000 – $175,000.
