Maintenance Technician II - Memphis Plant Posted Date: May 30, 2026 | Requisition Number: 128777 Job Title: Maintenance Technician II Job Location: Memphis, TN Position Type: Hourly The Hershey Company Memphis plant is a Non‑Union plant producing products such as Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, and Good & Plenty, in a high‑speed complex environment. Pay Starting Payrate: $34.95 per hour. Also, will receive $1.00/hour shift differential pay. Overtime potential. Manufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) Eligible. Shifts Flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays. Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Regular schedule is 8‑hour shifts; mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8‑hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12‑hour shifts). Candidate Process Qualified applicants must successfully complete a mechanical, written, and hands‑on skills assessment. Those with a passing score on both the written and hands‑on mechanical skills assessment advance to an onsite interview with the hiring team. Post‑offer drug screen, physical assessment and background check required. Summary The Memphis Plant of The Hershey Company has immediate openings for Industrial Maintenance Technician II to work in our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility. Maintenance technicians are skilled in electrical and mechanical and utility maintenance. Their primary role is to maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment and systems. Electrical Responsibilities Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of basic electricity and electronics. Demonstrate an understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70‑E. Demonstrate an understanding of occupation‑specific safety standards and procedures. Plan layout of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures consistent with specifications and local codes. Use proper techniques to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits. Use proper techniques to install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, outlets, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels. Use proper techniques to connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures, thermostats, intercoms, signaling systems, power equipment, or other components. Check circuit connections to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. Diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning apparatus and components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, generators, and fixtures. Mechanical Responsibilities Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Shift preference: 2nd (2pm‑10pm) or 3rd (10pm‑6am). Available to work weekends, holidays and overtime. Authorized to work in the United States. Must possess either a journeyman's card from a state approved apprenticeship program or 5‑7 years of hands‑on electrical and mechanical work in manufacturing systems maintenance, including experience as a qualified machine repair person, toolmaker, or machine tool builder. Must achieve a passing score on a written Mechanical NOCTI exam. Must have basic understanding of PCs and basic computer skills. Industrial electrical systems. Process control & instrumentation. Motors and controls (AC and DC). Analog and digital devices. Schematics and electrical print reading. Power supplies. Electrical maintenance. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems operational theory, troubleshooting and repair; including ability to read blueprints and schematics and systematically diagnose and repair problems. Lubrication. Mechanical drive systems including chains, belts, shaft, and gear drives. Pump systems. HVAC systems including controls for air, condensate, pressure and temperature. Steam including boilers, temperature and pressure control, condensate control and system operation and performance. Preferred Qualifications Food manufacturing experience. Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices. Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
