Senior Scientist II, Process Chemistry

Revolution Medicines seeks a Senior Scientist II in Process Chemistry to lead hands-on drug substance development for RAS-targeted oncology programs. The role combines experimental chemistry with cross-functional leadership, regulatory support, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute pivotal experiments to resolve chemistry problems and test scientific hypotheses
- Lead investigations of reaction behavior, process variability, and impurity formation; establish control recommendations
- Direct integrated process development across programs, managing technical priorities and development strategies
- Supervise small group of scientists and research associates, providing coaching and performance feedback
- Author process chemistry documentation and scientific justifications supporting regulatory filings
Requirements
- PhD in organic chemistry with 8+ years pharmaceutical industry process development experience
- Demonstrated expertise solving complex small-molecule process chemistry problems
- Direct contribution to regulatory submissions and process scale-up activities
- Advanced hands-on synthesis, experimental design, and analytical interpretation skills
- Leadership experience supervising scientific staff and driving cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Strong understanding of cGMP manufacturing and drug substance control strategies
