The Applicant must be Board Certified in General Surgery, have completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship, and be eligible for a Texas Medical License. The Division has grown to include 8 surgeons, performing >400 transplants a year across 3 hospitals on the southwestern medical district campus. The next Division Chief will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery, as well as the Executive Medical Director of the Solid Organ Transplant Service Line. Successful candidates will be committed to patient care, resident, fellow and medical student education and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine. Candidates will be expected to participate in the clinical practice and teaching programs at Clements University Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and Children’s Medical Center. Educational responsibilities include the clinical training of transplant fellows and general surgery residents. A commitment to basic science or clinical research is essential, as is experience in managing a large and diverse transplant team.The Dallas area boasts a low cost of living with diverse neighborhoods and great schools.
