ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our High Acuity Float Pool. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intensive care and floating experience across various units. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with diverse patient populations and a wide range of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in critical care settings, adhering to established protocols and nursing standards.
• Assist in the coordination of care for patients across multiple units, including Critical Care, Med Surg, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care.
• Manage complex patient assignments with acuity-based nurse-to-patient ratios, ensuring safety and quality care delivery.
• Administer and titrate medications and intravenous (IV) therapies, including critical drips such as Epi, Norepi, and Propofol.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, providing timely interventions as necessary.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families, enhancing their understanding of care plans and procedures.
• Participate in unit activities and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Compact License.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, with high acuity experience preferred.
• Valid certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS.
• EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
• Prior floating experience in various healthcare settings is essential.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for shift work, including three weekend shifts per schedule. The general orientation for new hires occurs weekly on Mondays.

Additional Information

The nurse-to-patient ratios are in accordance with AACN CCU staffing guidelines, with assignments varying based on patient acuity. The team will include nurse aids and monitoring staff to support patient care. Self-scheduling is permitted, providing flexibility in managing your work-life balance.
