*SCOPE AND PURPOSE:*

The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images of the brain, spine, and other neurological structures in accordance with standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. This role involves direct interaction with patients and collaboration with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*

1. Operate MRI equipment to capture detailed images of neurological structures.

2. Review and evaluate MRI images for clarity, completeness, and diagnostic quality.

3. Place INT and administer contrast agents as ordered by the physician.

4. Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.

5. Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after the procedure.

6. Screen patients for contraindications to MRI, such as pacemakers, metal implants, or claustrophobia.

7. Monitor patients throughout the procedure, recognizing and responding to any adverse reactions or complications.

8. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including imaging data and reports.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*

Bachelors or Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.

Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, preferably in a neurology or outpatient clinic.

BLS certification required.

*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*

Strong knowledge of MRI technology, techniques, and safety protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
