About the Labor & Employment Practice

Our client advises and represents employers on a broad range of workplace and employment matters. The practice combines proactive counseling and compliance work with sophisticated litigation, helping clients navigate day-to-day employment issues, minimize risk, and effectively resolve disputes when they arise.

The group advises employers on matters including wage and hour compliance, workplace policies and employee handbooks, personnel decisions, leaves and accommodations, workplace investigations, and state and federal employment requirements. The team also represents employers in complex litigation involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, PAGA and class actions, as well as proceedings before state and federal administrative agencies.

Attorneys in the practice work with a diverse range of private and public employers across industries, providing practical, business-focused advice while handling sophisticated and often high-stakes matters. The group offers associates the opportunity to gain meaningful experience across both counseling and litigation and to work closely with experienced attorneys on a broad range of employment matters.

The Opportunity

• Our client is seeking an attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join our Labor & Employment Department. This role offers the opportunity to work across both litigation and counseling matters and to take on meaningful responsibility as part of a collaborative team.

• The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of private and public employers across industries, providing practical, business-focused advice while assisting with sophisticated and often high-stakes matters.

• Responsibilities will include legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings, discovery and motions, preparing legal memoranda, assisting with case strategy and preparation, and supporting attorneys with client counseling and communications.

• Associates will work closely with experienced Labor & Employment attorneys, providing opportunities for mentorship, hands-on experience, and continued professional development across a broad range of employment matters.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar

• 2-8 years of relevant L&E practice experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to providing excellent client service

  Work Environment & Compensation

• The work environment is collaborative and collegial.

• This position is flexible and may be fully remote (provided the candidate resides in and is licensed to practice in California ), hybrid or entirely in office. For mentorship purposes, a hybrid schedule is appreciated by the firm but not required.

• The firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including eligibility for a year-end discretionary bonus.

• The salary range for this position is $165,000-$2000,000, depending on experience.
