Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (required)
• Experience teaching in self-contained classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborative spirit for working with support staff and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging daily instruction to students with exceptionalities in a self-contained classroom environment
• Create, update, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals and needs
• Assess student progress and make data-driven instructional adjustments
• Foster a supportive and structured classroom atmosphere where students feel safe and motivated
• Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to promote student success
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, challenges, and achievements
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and district policies
