Nurse (Labor and Delivery)

Job Duties

Provide highly specialized nursing care to complicated and routine laboring, perioperative, and post anesthesia obstetrical patients and newborns.

Formulate complex plans to meet patient care needs and continually revise goals and objectives according to changes in maternal/fetal status.

Administer oxygen therapy and utilize intensive pulmonary care techniques.

Monitor sophisticated equipment used in the care of complicated obstetrical patients such as electronic fetal monitors, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, cardiac monitors, and EKG machines.

Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting, highly potent medications according to specialty policies, procedures, and protocols.
