Environment, Health and Safety Manager

EHS Manager – Healthcare Construction (Night Shift) SAVI EHS is partnering with a respected commercial construction contractor to identify an experienced EHS Manager for a hospital renovation project in San Diego, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction safety professional who enjoys working in active healthcare environments and is passionate about maintaining a strong safety culture while supporting complex renovation work during off-hours. Responsibilities Lead all site safety efforts and serve as the project's primary safety professional during night shift operations. Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, project-specific safety requirements, and client safety policies. Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments while driving corrective actions. Develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Task Analyses (STAs). Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while maintaining accurate documentation. Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for project personnel. Maintain safety records, inspections, reports, and regulatory documentation. Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Promote a positive, team‑oriented safety culture while working within an active federal healthcare environment. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction safety management experience. Experience supporting federal construction projects strongly preferred. Experience on hospital renovation, healthcare, or occupied facility projects preferred. EM 385-1-1 40‑Hour certification required. BCSP certification (CHST, CSP, STS‑C, or equivalent) preferred. Competent Person training in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, or related disciplines is a plus. Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms. Ability to work independently during night shift operations.
