Responsibilities As an Operating Room Registered Nurse you will provide comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures. Key duties include: Preparing the operating room, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and functional. Assisting with patient positioning, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety. Maintaining a sterile field and adhering to infection control protocols. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing instruments and supplies promptly. Monitoring patient condition, documenting changes, and notifying the surgeon. Handling instruments, sterilization, and disposal per facility protocols. Managing specimen collection and transport accurately. Accurate documentation of all perioperative aspects of patient care. Participating in handoff communication pre‑ and post‑operative phases. Cleaning and restocking between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborating on policy and standard compliance and following safety rules. Performing other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications preferred. OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) preferred. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, PC skills. Physical abilities: move 50‑100 lbs, push/pull, bend, remain in stationary position. Interpersonal skills: collaborate with diverse personnel, maintain professionalism. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use equipment. Mental requirements: work under pressure, manage irregular schedules, maintain concentration. Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication.
