Day Program Director

Overview Assist with adults with I/DD disability in a day program setting. Implement an individual Person Centered Plan involving skills that promote independence while instructing, modeling, and assisting the consumer in daily living skills, socialization, leisure and/or recreational activities, educational and vocational skills. Responsibilities Purchase, store and maintain a supply of educational materials. Purchase and stock materials for craft activities and instruct/assist in their use. Schedule activities/outings and follow through with all advance planning. Disburse petty cash and maintain a record of expenditures. Provide supervision for employees who meet consumers at the day program to work with them one‑on‑one. Provide supervision for group home staff while they are working with consumers in the day program. Communicate with appropriate supervisor regarding any problems that arise. Prepare monthly supervision notes on all Day Program employees. Report on progress/problems in the Day Program to the Chief Operations Officer on a regular basis. Find or be prepared to replace an absent direct‑care staff member. Prepare and post a monthly calendar of activities and outings. Communicate with Case Managers regularly regarding concerns/needs of consumers. Review consumers’ goals and documentation weekly. Accompany staff and consumers on all outings. Monitor the appearance of consumers daily. Attend to any consumer health issues that arise. Ensure that all service‑ordered hours are being worked. Check the appearance of all work areas and the lunchroom daily to assure cleanliness. Complete privileging/annual supervision forms for Day Program only employees. Report to the Chief Operations Officer any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of consumers. Learn and comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations. Attend training classes required by the position and renew as necessary to keep current. Failure to renew training by date will result in immediate removal from the schedule until training is brought up‑to‑date. Perform other duties as required by circumstances. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 25 years old. Two years of hands‑on experience with adults with developmental disabilities and prior supervisory experience. No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry/Health Care Program and not listed on the HHS/OIG List of Excluded Individuals or Entities.
