Surgical Technologist

**This position requires flexibility to work across various UCSF Medical Center locations, including Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek. ** The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In addition to performing the duties of the Surgical Technologist, the Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologists. The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural. Walnut Creek (OR) has two surgical suites and one special procedure room. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing. Services include, but are not limited to: Neurology, Ortho/Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem/Onc. Carries out responsibilities within the scope of Practice. Required Qualifications: Two years recent scrubbing clinical experience in an acute care operating room Recent Cardiac experience (within last two years) Demonstrated proficiency in at least two surgical specialties Active American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification for healthcare providers High School Diploma; or equivalent experience Graduate of a surgical technologist training program; or equivalent experience The flexibility to work and orient at all UCSF Health locations Preferred Requirements: Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
