About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, AWHONN, NRP required. Must-Have: Traveler experience required. Experience with LDRP and Mother/Baby care. Proficient in external fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Breastfeeding support/lactation support experience required. Description: This position involves providing care in a Labor and Delivery unit. The nurse will assist with sterile speculum exams, including assessment of effacement, dilation, station, and presentation. Experience in external and internal fetal monitoring is necessary. The nurse will support breastfeeding and provide lactation assistance. Ratios in this unit are typically 1:4. Mandatory call shifts are required every six weeks. Weekend shifts are required, every other weekend. The unit provides couplet care and supports mothers and babies in the same room. The nurse will float to assist other units as needed. This role requires knowledge of EPIC for medication administration and documentation. The daily patient census is approximately 8, with a total of 9 beds available in the unit. Interdisciplinary support is available through various services. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. This position requires flexibility to coordinate care effectively and respond to patient needs.
