Medical Assistant - Neurology - AMP (La Jolla)This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. No weekends or holidays. Shift times may vary as needed. You thrive in a supportive and collaborative environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.What you'll do:Assist in preparing for in-office procedures by setting up necessary equipment.Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, coordinating with both patients and providers to optimize clinic flow.Assist with managing clinic flow, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, communicating referral information, and discharge instructions.May be responsible for administering medications, including injections.You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, working closely with experienced professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment.Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice including:Assisting in preparing patients for examination/proceduresAssisting physicians with proceduresRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianPerforming vital sign documentationScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entryAcquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographicsQualificationsRequired Qualifications: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Qualifications: One year of previous MA experience Neurology experience New grads welcome to apply!
