Job Title

Respiratory Therapist II

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | On-call availability required, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Administer competent respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, oxygen therapy, breathing exercises, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, and arterial punctures
• Provide all aspects of airway management including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations
• Manage mechanical ventilator care including setup, verification, use of specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and appropriate weaning techniques
• When assigned to air transport team, transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral facilities and perform advanced practice procedures per established protocol
• When assigned to ECMO team, manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support of patients
• Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a clinical resource to other staff

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• At least one of the following certifications required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in a Bronchoscopy Lab
• All certifications must be maintained as required by the certifying body
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information, technical procedures, and a variety of technical situations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with neonatal or pediatric patient populations
• Experience with ECMO or air medical transport environments
