Technical Product Manager

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of experience, or equivalent expertise, in product management or a related domain
• We need advanced knowledge of the product development lifecycle, design, and data analytics
• We need proven ability to lead product lifecycle activities, including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
• We need formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• We need experience in product management or another relevant domain area
• We need 5+ years in technical product management or engineering leadership, with prior Java development experience
• We need hands-on experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, WebFlux vs. MVC, Resilience4j, and Spring Data JPA/R2DBC
• We need experience with Kafka, including partitions and consumer groups, compaction and retention, schema evolution, idempotency, and lag management
• We need experience with GraphQL, including schema design and federation, persisted queries, query limits, and mitigating N+1 issues with DataLoader
• We need proven delivery of API and schema governance, versioning and deprecation, and CI policy gates
• We need strong SRE practices, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, OpenTelemetry, and data-driven post-incident improvements
• We need familiarity with developer productivity metrics such as time to first hello world, framework adoption, and migration cycle time
• We need experience tracking reliability and performance measures such as SLO attainment, p95/p99 latency, error budget burn, Kafka consumer lag, GraphQL query cost and failure rates, contract test coverage, schema validation pass rates, and deprecations completed within SLA
• We prefer prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization

• We develop product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
• We manage discovery work and market research to identify customer solutions and feed them into the product roadmap
• We own, maintain, and evolve the product backlog so development supports the strategic roadmap and value proposition
• We build the framework and monitor key product success metrics, including cost, features and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
• We set and refine technical baselines for Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, WebFlux vs. MVC, and GraphQL schema conventions
• We define and govern REST and GraphQL standards, including OpenAPI-first design, contract testing, versioning and deprecation SLAs, SDL-first schemas, registry checks, persisted queries, and deprecation policy
• We define SLIs and SLOs, enforce error budgets, and set standards for timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads, and observability using OpenTelemetry and RED/USE dashboards
• We track latency, MTTR, topic naming and versioning, partition and replica policy, compaction and retention, schema evolution, idempotency, and ordering guidance
• We define security standards for OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT claims, GraphQL resolver-level authorization, and secrets management integration
• We prioritize work based on cost of delay, reliability risk, developer productivity impact, and total cost of ownership, and we document architecture decision records for major choices
