The Opportunity Our client, a well-established, global consumer products company, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting function. This is a high-visibility role for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, product-driven environment and is ready to bring rigor, structure, and international accounting expertise to a growing organization. This position is fully onsite and reports directly to the CFO. What You'll Do Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP Manage consolidated financial reporting across international entities and multiple currencies Lead technical accounting research and ensure proper application of accounting standards Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions Partner with FP&A, tax, and treasury to support broader finance initiatives Manage external audit relationships and ensure clean, efficient annual audits Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls across the organization Support ad hoc projects including system implementations, M&A due diligence, and integration work as needed What You Bring CPA required Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred International/multi-currency accounting experience — consolidations, foreign subsidiaries, or global operations Background in consumer goods, retail, or a similarly fast-paced, product-driven industry 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP) and demonstrated ability to research and apply complex standards Proven experience owning the full close cycle in a company of meaningful scale Strong proficiency in ERP systems, Power BI, Excel, and AI tools Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with senior leadership #J-18808-Ljbffr Waterstone Human Capital
