PROMAN Staffing has partnered with Power Services Group in Oswego, IL.
We are hiring a Manual Machinist.
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM (Overtime as needed)
Pay Rate: $25.00-$30.00/hr
Manual Machinist Summary:
- Machine complex, high-precision parts for equipment repairs.
- Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to machine parts to specifications.
- Perform mechanical work including assembly and disassembly as required.
Manual Machinist Responsibilities:
- Machine parts to specifications using manual machining equipment.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Evaluate machining procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency and adaptability.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
- Perform assembly and disassembly work as needed.
- Manage and organize workload while supporting team objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual machining equipment preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing machining environment preferred.
- Proficient with measuring tools and working with close tolerances.
- Ability to read blueprints and work with metric measurements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods.
- Crane and forklift experience is a plus; training available.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
