Epic Application Analyst (Op-Time/Anesthesia)

Job Title: Epic Application Analyst (Op-Time/Anesthesia) Location: Austin, TX Hiring Department: Dell Medical School Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Overview The Epic Application Analyst (Op Time/Anesthesia) supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications across surgical and perioperative environments. This role partners closely with perioperative clinical staff, anesthesia providers, operational leaders, IT teams, and vendors to improve system performance and workflow. Purpose The Analyst serves as the subject matter expert and technical contact for Epic Op Time and Anesthesia application areas. The role designs, builds, configures, tests, supports, and maintains Epic applications, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable and efficient healthcare technology solutions. Responsibilities Analyze perioperative clinical, business, and technical processes to develop effective system solutions Design, build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications supporting surgical and perioperative workflows Serve as the liaison between business operations, perioperative leadership, anesthesia providers, surgeons, IT teams, system users, and vendors Manage application implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, and enhancement projects Provide technical and application support to end users and IT staff while ensuring alignment with defined project objectives and operational priorities Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for improvement across surgical and perioperative operations Collaborate with perioperative departments to prioritize development initiatives Recommend workflow improvements that enhance operational efficiency, provider satisfaction, and patient care Maintain and support Epic Op Time and Anesthesia applications Perform debugging, testing, installation, and maintenance of application modules Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate timely resolution with stakeholders Ensure all system changes follow established change‑management procedures Create and maintain documentation for assigned Epic applications Develop, coordinate, and execute testing plans for supported applications Partner with IT educators to update training plans, educational materials, and documentation Serve as liaison between IT, Epic, vendors, clinical users, and operational stakeholders during production support activities Provide project‑management support as required Maintain productive relationships with vendors and business partners to support application performance and issue resolution Assist with other Epic modules as operational needs require Provide backup support during peak workloads or staff shortages Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives Perform related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Rapidly acquires new technical skills, healthcare technologies, and Epic functionality Maintains current knowledge of Epic Op Time and Anesthesia features and enhancements Actively seeks ongoing training and professional development opportunities Applies new knowledge to improve application performance and user experience Uses analytical thinking and sound judgment to resolve complex application issues Diagnoses system problems and identifies root causes Develops effective technical solutions that improve clinical and operational workflows Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to address application and system challenges Demonstrates commitment to meeting the needs of internal and external customers Provides responsive, high‑quality support to perioperative clinical staff and operational users Anticipates user needs and proactively addresses concerns Promotes user satisfaction through effective application support and workflow optimization Works effectively with providers, anesthesia teams, surgeons, nursing staff, analysts, technical teams, vendors, and operational leaders Builds productive working relationships across departments Shares knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise Participates actively in team meetings, projects, and organizational initiatives Reviews application configurations and documentation for accuracy and completeness Maintains high standards for system quality and reliability Ensures configuration changes follow established standards and best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum two years of experience supporting healthcare IT systems or Epic applications Understanding of IT principles, software development, and systems analysis Experience configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining Epic applications Experience with Epic Op Time, Epic Anesthesia, or other perioperative Epic applications preferred Experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to optimize applications Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without visa sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum four years of experience supporting healthcare IT or Epic systems Experience supporting Epic Op Time and/or Epic Anesthesia applications Experience with perioperative, surgical services, anesthesia, or procedural workflows Experience with Epic implementation, optimization, upgrades, and workflow redesign initiatives Experience collaborating with providers, anesthesia teams, nursing staff, and operational leadership to improve clinical workflows Certifications Required: Epic Certification in a relevant module Preferred: Epic Op Time Certification, Epic Anesthesia Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Certification Salary Range $79,316+ depending on qualifications Working Conditions Standard office environment and equipment Repetitive use of a keyboard and computer May provide on‑site support within ambulatory, perioperative, and surgical environments as operational needs require May participate in application upgrades, testing, implementations, go‑lives, and after‑hours support activities May be exposed to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, blood‑borne pathogens, ionizing and non‑ionizing radiation,
