Safety Manager

Mount Gilead, Georgia, United States, 27306 Safety Manager Requisition ID: 93110 What we need: The Sr. Manager Safety is a senior-level manager that will develop, plan, direct, and implement organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This role will promote and work to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety. What you’ll do: Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations. Plan and deliver training programs to sites on relevant accident prevention and compliance programs. Conduct analyses of accident causes and associated health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies. Prepare and maintain required documentation of incident reports, statistical analyses, and other reports for use as required by company personnel and outside agencies. Audit facilities to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards and management systems deficiencies. Provide information and communication materials to worksites to assist with training, safety meetings, and other programs. Coordinate the investigation of incidents and injuries with site managers. Perform other related duties as needed. What you have: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience. 3-5 years of management experience. Safety certifications preferred. Knowledge of laws, regulations, practices, and procedures related to manufacturing safety. High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures. What else? This employee will be responsible for direct reports. Occasional travel is required. This role may work in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic production floors.
