Job Description
RN - Med-Surg/Telemetry

Schedule

Contract: 13 weeks. Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday requirement: Available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Assignment Details

Unit: MS/Tele (specific unit assignment at time of offer). Ratios: 1:5 to 1:7.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license required (pending licenses not accepted).
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the past 6 months.
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS required with submission).
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Key clinical skills: Cardiac monitoring; dysrhythmia interpretation/management; IV therapy/phlebotomy; oxygen delivery and non-invasive airway management; isolation precautions/PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care according to established protocols and procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
• Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as necessary.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting in the electronic medical record system.

Compliance / Notes

Applicants must include requests for time off with application; greater than 10 days RTO cannot be accepted. Background and return-staff policies will be reviewed per facility.
