Welder – Structural Steel (Flux-Core / MIG)

Up to $33/hr | 1st or 2nd Shift Available | Growth to Lead Role

We’re hiring a Structural Steel Welder with flux-core (FCAW) experience to work on steel bridge components up to 1/2" thick . This is a hands-on fabrication role with real growth opportunity into a Lead Welder position .

• Up to $33/hour (based on experience)
• 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
• Overtime opportunities available

• Perform flux-core MIG (FCAW) welding on structural steel
• Read and work from blueprints to complete full layouts
• Fabricate components: cutting, fitting, assembling
• Weld in vertical, overhead, and confined positions
• Operate equipment:
  • Overhead & jib cranes
  • Band saws, drill presses, grinders, stud welders
• Move throughout the shop (not stuck in one booth)
• Ensure high-quality, structurally sound welds

• Structural steel welding experience REQUIRED
• Strong flux-core (FCAW) welding skills
• Ability to pass:
  • 3F & 4F weld tests
  • 3G vertical up weld test (X-ray quality)
• Blueprint reading & layout experience
• Comfortable with physical, hands-on work (lift 50 lbs, kneel, crawl)
• Ability to work independently

• Bridge or heavy structural steel experience
• Lead or supervisory experience
• Overhead crane experience

• Up to $33/hr + bonus potential
• Clear path to Lead Welder role
• Work on large-scale structural/bridge projects
• Skill-building, non-repetitive work environment

• Small structural fabrication shop
• Physically active role (kneeling, crawling, tight spaces)
• Industrial setting (no AC)
• Variety of work — not just welding in a booth

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
