Role Description The Physician Assistant at Great Lakes Neurosurgical Associates will provide comprehensive care to neurosurgical patients in an on-site setting in Grand Rapids, MI. This full-time role includes conducting patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, assisting with pre- and post-operative care, and collaborating closely with neurosurgeons and other clinicians. The Physician Assistant will participate as first assist, inpatient rounds, outpatient clinic visits, patient education, and care coordination across the continuum of care. Responsibilities also include documenting clinical encounters, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and contributing to efficient clinic and hospital workflows. Qualifications Licensure and education: Current Physician Assistant license (or eligibility) in the state of Michigan, graduation from an accredited PA program, and NCCPA certification. Clinical and neurosurgical skills: Experience or strong interest in neurosurgery or related specialties, ability to perform detailed neurological exams, manage post-operative patients, and interpret relevant imaging and diagnostic tests. Patient care and communication: Strong patient-centered approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to educate patients and families and collaborate with referring providers. Teamwork and professionalism: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, maintain professional conduct, and support a culture of trust and mutual respect. Organizational and documentation skills: Proficiency with electronic health records, accurate and timely clinical documentation, and strong time-management and prioritization abilities. Additional preferred qualifications: Prior experience in surgical or hospital-based care, familiarity with evidence-based practice guidelines, BLS/ACLS certification, and willingness to participate in quality improvement or clinical research initiatives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
