LaborMax Staffing is currently seeking a highly motivated and physically capable General Construction Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in a job well done, has a strong back, and isn’t afraid to get dirty. This is one of our highest-paying field positions, designed for individuals who are ready to hit the ground running on active construction sites.

About the Role:

You will be the backbone of our site operations. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workspace. You will work closely with site supervisors to execute critical site preparation and environmental control tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Cleanup & Maintenance: Keep the site clear of trash, scrap (wood, metal), and debris. Handle dust control and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
• Material Support: Efficiently move, load, and unload construction materials. Assist the team by picking up, moving rocks, and clearing pathways as directed by the site supervisor.
• Site Preparation: Assist in measuring boundaries, clearing lines, and digging 4-inch deep trenches along downhill contours to prepare for erosion control.
• Fence & Barrier Installation: Install and secure geotextile fabric into trenches. Drive wooden or metal stakes using a sledgehammer, ensuring fabric is taut and secure.
• Erosion Control: Perform precise backfilling and soil compacting over the fabric base to prevent runoff bypass.
• Inspections: Regularly inspect existing barriers, repair gaps or tears, and handle the removal of fencing post-construction.

• Physical Stamina: You must possess a strong back and the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials throughout the workday.
• Reliability: You are punctual, dependable, and follow safety protocols to the letter.
• Adaptability: You are comfortable taking direct instructions from supervisors and managers and can pivot between different tasks (fencing, cleaning, material handling) as needed.
