Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join a precision manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village. This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople with strong milling and grinding experience who enjoy hands-on machining, blueprint reading, and delivering high-quality parts. Candidates will work in a collaborative shop environment with opportunities for growth.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual milling and grinding machines for tool and die production.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets.
Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
Troubleshoot and repair tooling to ensure production quality and uptime.
Collaborate with engineers and shop leadership to improve tooling and processes.
Maintain safety, 5S, and documentation standards.
3+ years of hands-on Tool and Die Maker experience.
Proficiency in milling and grinding with ability to perform setups independently.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong skills in precision measurement and inspection.
Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
Tool and die design experience (CAD/CAM exposure a plus).
Experience in metal stamping, forming, or die repair.
Familiarity with ISO or AS9100D quality standards.
CNC milling experience alongside manual machining.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

- Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport, ProtoTRAK, Sharp, Clausing, Supermax)
