Senior Technical Writer

The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for creating comprehensive and clear technical documentation for cutting-edge DoD and USAF defense modules and communication systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role requires working with technical cross-functional teams to support mission objectives and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, publication management, configuration management for DoD contracts and process creation.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and program managers to gather information and translate complex technical details into clear and concise documentation
• Maintain version control and organize documentation repositories for easy accessibility
• Ensure documentation complies with security and confidentiality requirements.
• Review and edit CDRL documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy to program requirements
• Edit and maintain technical manuals, reports, work instructions, processes, templates, and other documentation for specific DoD programs
• Edit and maintain work instructions, processes, and governing documentation for the company

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or related field required. Or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of technical writing and configuration management experience required.
• DoD knowledge and experience is a plus, especially knowledge of MIL-STD-38784 and MIL-STD-40051
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
• Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.
• Ability to work with technical teams, program managers, and company leadership
• Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Due to Federal Contracting requirements, must be a US citizen.
• Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
