What You'll Do

As an Account Representative, your primary responsibility is straightforward: Win new customers, grow relationships, and produce results

You'll accomplish this by:

• Driving Sales: Aggressively pursuing new business across automobile, homeowners, life, health, and other insurance product categories.
• Closing Opportunities: Turning agency-provided leads into customers through disciplined follow-up, effective sales conversations, and confident closing.
• Building Your Own Pipeline: Generating referrals, developing professional relationships, networking, and finding new business opportunities independently.
• Selling Solutions, Not Prices: Understanding customer needs, identifying risks and coverage gaps, and recommending comprehensive insurance solutions.
• Expanding Relationships: Identifying additional opportunities to help existing customers protect their families, assets, and financial futures.
• Developing Referral Networks: Building relationships with business owners, real estate professionals, mortgage lenders, and other centers of influence.
• Representing Our Agency: Participating in local Chamber of Commerce activities, business networking groups, and community events.
• Collaborating With Specialists: Connecting customers with our Investment Planning team when appropriate.

You'll have access to agency-generated leads, established systems, training, and an experienced team. But your success won't be limited to the opportunities handed to you.

Qualifications

Required:

• Demonstrated success in a sales-oriented position with measurable performance expectations.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and closing skills.
• Ability to independently prospect and develop new business.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain Property, Casualty, Life, and Health insurance licenses.
• Strong work ethic, personal accountability, and commitment to professional excellence.

Preferred:

• Previous insurance or financial services sales experience.
• A documented history of exceeding sales goals or earning performance-based recognition.
• Experience in consultative, relationship-based, or multi-product sales.
• Established professional or community relationships in the Ashland, Hanover County, or greater Richmond area.

Don't have insurance experience?

That's not necessarily a dealbreaker. We're interested in proven sales professionals from industries such as banking, automotive sales, real estate, telecommunications, and other performance-driven environments.

We can teach insurance products and processes. We're looking for the ambition, discipline, and competitive drive that produce outstanding sales results.

Compensation & Benefits

Enjoy the stability of W-2 employment with the earning potential of a high-performance sales career

This is a full-time W-2 employee position-not a 1099 independent contractor opportunity You'll receive a guaranteed hourly base wage, with additional commissions and bonuses based on your actual sales performance.

• Base Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Commissions & Bonuses: Additional compensation based on individual sales performance and achievement of production goals.
• Average Total Compensation: Approximately $60,000 annually for average-performing Account Representatives.
• Top Performer Potential: High-performing sales professionals can earn $90,000 or more annually in total compensation.
• Uncapped Commissions: No predetermined ceiling on commission earnings. Exceptional production creates the opportunity for exceptional compensation.

Total compensation figures include base pay, commissions, and applicable bonuses. Actual earnings depend on individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person W-2 employee position based in our Ashland, Virginia office.

Regular Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Occasional evening or weekend availability may be necessary for customer appointments, networking opportunities, and special events.
