Process Engineer

Responsibilities Leads API process programs — Oversees multi‑step, multi‑year cGMP manufacturing development from pilot to commercialization. Designs full API processes — Performs scale‑up calculations, selects equipment, defines operating parameters, and plans production. Conducts process reviews — Ensures operability, safety, and quality across all stages. Serves as SME — Interfaces with internal leadership and external clients to solve complex technical issues. Mentors junior staff — Guides development of engineers and scientists. Drives process improvements — Uses ideation, modeling, and data analysis to optimize yield, cycle time, and quality. Leads quality investigations — Manages complex investigations and implements CAPA actions. Manages documentation — Coordinates creation of PFDs, batch records, validation protocols, SOPs, and campaign reports. Skills Process engineering Process improvementChemical engineering Continuous improvement Pharmaceutical manufacturing Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience in chemical development, chemical manufacturing, chemical engineering design, or the equivalent. Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, particularly pharmaceutical, is preferred. Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Charles City, IA.
