We're partnering with a successful and growing organization in the Westbrook, CT area seeking an AR/AP Accounting Manager to oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, financial reporting, and accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys improving processes, supporting business growth, and collaborating across departments.

This direct hire opportunity is offering qualified candidates $100,000-$120,000 depending on experience!

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations & Financial Management

• Oversee all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
• Ensure accurate and timely billing, collections, vendor payments, and account reconciliations
• Manage monthly AP close and assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Review general ledger accounts and support journal entry preparation
• Monitor cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting activities
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for leadership review
• Assist with audits and maintain supporting documentation

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, train, and support members of the finance team
• Establish and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements

Business Support

• Manage sales commission calculations and payments
• Oversee state sales tax compliance
• Support inventory reconciliation and inventory accounting activities
• Maintain vendor records and vendor relationships
• Partner with operations, sales, customer service, and management teams
• Assist with payroll reporting and other accounting projects as needed
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibility
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Manufacturing, distribution, or related industry experience preferred
