RN, Registered Nurse - Operating Room - Part-Time - Weekends

Employment Type Part time Shift Weekend Shift Description Position Purpose The Surgery Department at Mount Carmel East has 13 operating rooms with 3 of those rooms dedicated to trauma. Surgical specialties include Level II Trauma care, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery (Cranial and Spinal), General Surgery, ENT, GYN, Dental, Plastics, Colorectal, and Robotic Surgery. They average 25 cases per day and care for the adult patient population. The department is staffed 24-7-365 and focuses heavily on work-life balance. The schedule is Saturdays 0700-1930 and Sundays 0700-1930. Previous OR/Inpatient Surgery/Circulator experience is preferred. The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization. What you will do Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and qualityinitiativesandexhibitsprofessionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizingevidence basedpractice. Collaborates withpatientand family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical,spiritualand educational components. Accurately communicates pertinent information toappropriate teammembersin a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated. Documents accurately and completelypertinentassessments,interventionsand outcomes for patientsin accordance withdocumentation standards, policies,proceduresand/or guidelines. Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers asappropriate. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate from school of nursing. Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required. All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
