Energy and Climate Solutions Tax Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Energy and Climate Solutions Tax Associate in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of tax equity transactional experience, particularly in tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback transactions, equipment safe harbor transactions, and tax credit transfer transactions. Experience in sectors such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, and EV charging is preferred. Duties Provide counsel in substantive Federal tax credit matters. Offer written advice on tax equity transactions. Collaborate with the energy tax team leader and manage client transactions. Work with project finance practice, including corporate, debt, and securitization input. Requirements Minimum of six years of tax equity transactional experience. Experience with tax equity partnership and lease transactions. Background in sectors like wind, solar, and battery storage preferred. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Skills Strong analytical and transactional skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
