Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift - 3 shifts of 12 hours per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, while operating within the scope of their professional license and with minimal supervision. This role evaluates patient needs and recommends treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

• Administers physician-prescribed treatments including operating various ventilatory, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices.
• Conducts patient evaluations and provides education regarding treatments, procedures, and equipment.
• Performs chest physiotherapy and suctioning using various methods including oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal.
• Monitors and reports on oximetry and capnography, including routine review of patient chest x-rays.
• Assists with procedures related to respiratory care such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Performs arterial punctures and analyzes ventilation efficiency, documenting and reporting results accurately.
• Follows laboratory testing protocols, including specimen handling and quality control measures.
• Administers CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines and manages mechanical ventilation operations.
• Communicates effectively with attending physicians on patient therapy efficiency and maintains accurate patient records.
• Facilitates the preventive maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Current and valid Respiratory Therapy license is required. Experience in performing advanced respiratory procedures is preferred.
