Government Information Specialist

Job Title

As a Government Information Specialist, you will:

Responsible for administrative processes or actions related to FOIA/PA requests. This includes researching, analyzing, and evaluating data for response requests.

Reviews, analyzes, and processes requests in accordance with Federal law, regulations, and policies. The requests may concern maintenance issues related to the confidentiality of personal information, proprietary information, law enforcement records, classified information, and operation security information.

Assigns requests to the appropriate office (or transfers them to the appropriate Agency) to search for responsive records.

Advises other Agency staff on FOIA/PA processes and the application to files and records.

Reviews and analyzes records for release determinations in accordance with FOIA/PA and applicable guidelines.

Responds verbally and in writing to personal, telephone and written inquiries for information and educational material from the public, as well as internal and external customers.
