Description

The API Support Specialist helps customers, partners, and developers successfully connect their applications and systems with Brivo. Day-to-day, this person responds to questions, helps troubleshoot integration issues, guides customers through the API activation and onboarding process, and works with internal teams when more complex issues need to be resolved.

The role also includes meeting with customers and partners to understand what they are trying to accomplish, providing guidance on available Brivo capabilities, managing support requests from initial intake through resolution, documenting common issues and solutions, and helping ensure customers have a positive experience when building and maintaining integrations with Brivo.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide customers, partners, and developers through the API activation and onboarding process to connect third-party applications with Brivo.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical API issues using tools like Postman to inspect payloads, analyze status codes, and debug REST JSON requests.
• Conduct discovery meetings with external partners to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate Brivo API capabilities.
• Manage API support tickets from initial intake through resolution, maintaining clear communication and tracking issue status.
• Collaborate with internal Product, Engineering, and Tier-3 support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical bugs or platform limits.
• Author and update internal knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and common API solution documentation.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a technical support, developer support, or professional services role working with REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting APIs using testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or cURL.
• Strong working knowledge of web concepts, including REST architecture, request methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), headers, and status codes.
• Proficiency in reading, validating, and formatting JSON and XML data payloads.
• Familiarity with webhooks, API authentication mechanisms (such as OAuth 2.0 or API keys), and basic network troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical support tickets from intake to resolution within established SLAs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical API concepts to non-technical business partners.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail, and a customer-first attitude.
