Manufacturing Specialist - Weekend Day Shift

Job Summary Manufacturing Specialist – Schertz, TX. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless production of Caterpillar diesel engines, providing technical expertise and collaborating closely with the Operations Supervisor to meet customer and company objectives in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate a variety of machine tooling for precision machining operations. Disburse all parts and maintain machining processes to specifications. Manage disposition of tools sent out for re‑grind/repair and those received. Handle delivery and pickup of machine tools using transfer carts. Perform process testing to ensure quality control. Set up, troubleshoot, and operate basic and specialized machine tools. Maintain accurate inventory records and track items through the WX system. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematic diagrams. Assist with resolution of Continuous Improvement cards and provide process information to supervisors. Ensure a safe and clean workstation environment. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing and machining processes. Familiarity with mechanical products and components. Experience with scanners for parts management. Proficiency in using engine prints and schematics for quality verification. Basic understanding of tolerance and fit. Proficiency in working with hand tools. Preferred Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, with training in GD&T. Experience with milling machine tooling. Experience setting up and troubleshooting Heller and Toyoda machining cells. High School Diploma or GED Degree. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive operations. Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and up to 80 lbs. Compensation $20.00/hour starting pay rate plus 11% shift premium. Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Overtime as business needs. Relocation assistance is not available.
