Physician (Sleep Medicine)

Staff Sleep PhysicianThe Phoenix VA Health Care System needs a Staff Sleep Physician in Sleep services five days per week. Clinic services are required five days per week which includes patient examinations, patient education for procedure preparation, contacting patients with procedure results, and consult triaging. All medical record documentation will be done in the Computer Patient Record System (CPRS). Patients include all conditions and diseases relating to Sleep specialty. The Staff Sleep MD must be board certified or board eligible in Sleep medicine. The Sleep Specialist is required to be credentialed and privileged at the Phoenix VA Health Care System and abide by the rules and bylaws of the medical staff. Normal work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. Sleep clinic and scheduled procedures will occur during normal work hours, as indicated above, weekend coverage may be required on a rotating basis, and some on call may be required. The Sleep physician will need to manage and perform the following items:Sleep clinic to include examination of patients and establish medical diagnoses by patient history, physical examination, and other criteriaInterpret Sleep function tests and relevant pulmonary tests.Perform inpatient and outpatient Sleep consultationsPerform Sleep related procedures and interpretation of relevant diagnostic tests.ACLS certification is necessaryIf Sleep Specialist is certified in sleep medicine, s/he will interpret sleep studies, overnight oximetries, see patients in sleep clinic and perform/interpret other methodologies related to sleep medicine.Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday
