About the Position

Job Title: MedSurg RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour PM-AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required License: RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed - Post-surgical drains - Central line care/maintenance - Foley insertion - G tubes/J tubes/NG tubes/PEG tubes - IV medication administration/IV push - Wound care - O2 therapy Description: MedSurg RN needed for a medical-surgical unit. The unit cares for inpatients with a variety of medical conditions as well as post-operative patients. The patient population is primarily elderly but can include younger patients as well. Common diagnoses include post-operative orthopedic and general surgery, alcohol withdrawal, congestive heart failure, and pneumonia. RN patient ratios are 5:1, and LNA patient ratios are 3:1. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience. Shifts are 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week, nights, with every other weekend required and rotating holidays. Preferred experience includes knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (Epic) and telemetry experience.
