OT - Occupational Therapy

Job Details:

• Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Full-time position
• Weekend requirement: Yes
• Blocked scheduling accommodated
• Acute care setting
• New Mexico state license required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy required
• One year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
• Assess and treat the impact of illness, injury, developmental or psychological impairments in the performance of Activities of Daily Living
• Assist patients in regaining, developing, and learning skills to achieve optimal independence, reduce joint strain, prevent further joint damage, and conserve energy
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care
• Verify physician orders prior to evaluation and evaluate each patient before administering treatments
• Administer occupational therapy treatments including ADL activities, splinting, ROM, endurance building, strengthening exercises, cognitive retraining, coordination and dexterity training
• Apply appropriate modalities such as therapeutic exercises, hot moist packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, paraffin, soft tissue mobilization, balance training, and functional mobility training
• Maintain contact with referring physician regarding patient progress and recommend changes to treatment as indicated
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team throughout the care process
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills required
