Job Summary:
The position of Perinatal Registered Nurse (RN) is based in a Labor and Delivery unit located in Santa Monica, California. The role involves providing high-risk antepartum care, assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for cesarean sections, and supporting facility births averaging 200-300 per month. Candidates must bring their California license on their first day. This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.

Job Details:

• Location: Santa Monica, California
• Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: California licensure must be in hand, along with certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced, Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and certification from the Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Advanced or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM). A minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, high-risk antepartum care, and scrub experience for cesarean sections.
• Float: Float to postpartum if needed.
• Additional Information: Must be able to assist with vaginal deliveries, circulate during C-sections, work in an operating room during C-sections with standard equipment, and perform sterile vaginal exams. Candidates are expected to work in a team that supports high-volume deliveries and high-risk pregnancy monitoring.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have worked previously at a Providence facility (as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem) with details included in the submission. LA fire card within the last 30 days is required. Two references covering one year (or six months for CNAs) within the last three years are required. Candidates must confirm they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 07/27/2026, with holiday and RTO considerations per policy.
• RTO Restrictions: RTO must be included at time of submission.
• Additional Notes: Must be willing to float between units if required, including postpartum. Candidate response to prior Providence experience is required at submission.
